Located on the north side of the Himalayas, Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world at an altitude of 3,650 meters.
In November 2020, at the invitation of the Lhasa Science and Technology Department in Tibet, relevant leaders of the Institute of Building Environment and Energy Efficiency visited Lhasa to investigate the representatives of the outstandings in the construction field. And on-the-spot investigation was made on one of the hotel projects of Hien, the leading brand of air source heat pump, which conquered the harsh environment in Tibet, providing heating and hot water supply stably.
The Institute of Building Environment and Energy Efficiency is affiliated to the China Academy of Building Research. It is the largest national scientific research institution in the field of building environment and building energy conservation in China. With its own inherent talent advantages and industry status, it provides a safe, healthy, environmentally friendly and comfortable living environment for Chinese society. The investigators of the Institute of Building Environment and Energy Efficiency selected one of Hien’s hotel project cases in Lhasa, the heating and hot water case of Hotel Hongkang, to investigate. The investigators expressed their recognition and appreciation for this project case, and at the same time drew on the relevant situation of the case for future reference. We are proud of this.
Aiming at Lhasa’s harsh climate environment, in this project Hien equipped the hotel with DLRK-65II ultra-low temperature air source heat pump for heating, and DKFXRS-30II air source heat pump for hot water, which respectively met the needs of the hotel’s 2000 square meters of heating and 10 tons hot water. For the climate environment of extreme cold, high altitude and low pressure like Tibet, where frost, snowstorm and hail are often visited, there are more stringent and high requirements for the performance of the heat pump units. After fully understanding the customer’s needs, Hien’s professional technicians quantified it as a design guide, and made corresponding compensation during installation to reduce energy consumption. In addition, Hien’s ultra-low temperature air source heat pump units have their own Enhanced Vapour Injection to ensure the smooth operation of the unit in a low temperature environment.
Hotel Hongkang is located at the foot of the Bulada Palace in Lhasa. Over the past four years, Hien’s heat pump units have been operating stably and efficiently, allowing hotel guests to experience a spring-like comfortable temperature every day, and enjoy instant hot water at any time.
